Portfolio: Books, Essays & Speeches

Everyone has something wise to say; it's putting it into words that's the challenge! If you're facing a writing project, and don't want to go it alone, consider hiring a ghostwriter or editor. A ghostwriter will pen the entire project for you, while an editor will help sculpt your existing work into something even greater.

Both are passions of mine. I've written book chapters and speeches for CEOs, and family histories and business correspondence for individuals. I've also helped people take books from draft to publication, working with arc, structure, narrative, flow, and craft. My undergraduate degree in English/Creative Writing from New York University, master's degree in Editing and Publishing from University of Cincinnati, and five years of experience teaching writing help inform the advice I give in my coaching practice.

The following are samples of my work and client testimonials:

  • Beloved Community, a book chapter written for KnowledgeWorks Foundation CEO Chad Wick when I was the organization's writer, and published in Peter Karoff's The World We Want. Like many CEOs, Wick has a knack for writing, but didn't have the time.

"I really wanted to tell you how much I respected your work and how I appreciated that you really 'pried' into my deep sentiments to produce the writings.  I loved the final product and hope if I need something personal done somewhere down the line--and if you are doing private 'gigs'--that you might consider it."
    --Chad Wick, CEO, KnowledgeWorks Foundation

  • Inspirational speech, Much Progress Has Been Made, written for KnowledgeWorks Foundation CEO Chad Wick. The charge was to inspire teachers after the first year of KnowledgeWorks Foundation's Ohio High School Transformation Initiative.

  • Book, Dance of Stones: A Shamanic Road Trip. This fictionalized spiritual adventure and deeply reflective work was edited for Kenn Day, a nationally recognized lecturer and spiritual teacher.

"Heather edited a manuscript that had taken over four years to write, and in only a few months, improved the arc of the narrative while paying great attention to continuity, detail and character. I am very satisfied with the work she did. She was easy to work with and the outcome was outstanding."
